Option given to pay gold to dive in search of treasure. If accepted, chance draws are given in sequence. Player can choose to stop and go back up at any time. The more chance draws are used, the harder it becomes to go back up without drawing pain cards on the final chance draw.
There are two types of chance draws:
2x Success and 2x Failure OR 1x Huge Success, 1x Success, 1x Failure, 1x Huge Failure
Failure results in no penalty or reward. Huge Failure results in a pain card draw. Huge Success results in an equipment draw or draw 5 gold gain cards. Success results in various rewards, such as:
- Mermaid - extends air supply (improves chance cards upon going back up)
- Gain Card draws
- Ore (as Iron Hunger fate) - either +3 or +12
NOTE: If you have the Curse of the Kraken, the sailors will shudder, and refuse to speak with you.
