'''''Hand of Fate''''' is a unique blend of tabletop card gaming and video game magic, inspired by tarot and fantasy. It was developed by [[Defiant Development]] in Brisbane, Australia and released DRM-free for PC, Mac, and Linux. The game is also available for PlayStation 4.

==Gameplay==

You play against the dealer, traveling a medieval world. This world is created by placing the cards from your deck, and the dealer's cards, in different patterns, creating a sort of board game. The goal of the game is to get the end of each area and defeat the boss, while surviving the encounter cards. 

All encounter cards either lead to RPG style choices, loot, a card picking game, gain/pain cards, traders, or batman style combat. These can all overlap and most often do. There is also always a little story for each encounter card, which adds a lot to the game. (by the way, I make it sound way more complicated then it is.) You get more encounter cards as you progress the level, receiving them all at the end. 

The end goal of each level is to defeat the boss. This can be a Jack, a Queen, or a King of different suits; the suits symbolizing the monster type.

==Deck building==
Hand of Fate uses a deck building mechanic that allows players to choose both the types of loot they will gain and the type of adventure they will embark upon.

Most roguelike games use randomness to increase game difficulty. Hand of Fate uses Deck Building mechanics so the player can completely customise their game experience, which is then randomly distributed as the dungeon level they delve into.
